    Water

    It’s been a while… I’ve been working with water energy this evening…   In the ritual waters of my delving I put dried roses, buds and leaves. As they soaked up the water they became full and gave out their sweet fragrance. And then their colour. And then their definition. They became water laden, sank to the bottom, began to disintegrate. But the water held their potent perfume. If the water can’t flow, move, change it will become stagnant, the magic of the roses will become heavy, no longer cleansing and fresh. If you try to cling on, to that sweet perfume it will start to stink.   It’s medicine…

    Counting the Omer: Freeing my Judaism from patriarchy

    Even Girls Can Count? This week I have, for the first time, begun Counting the Omer (thanks to an excellent Instagram hashtag #taromer started last year by @omerwithtarot, who would’ve thought I would start Counting the Omer through tarot?!!?) I had never participated in such Jewish rites growing up, as my Jewish roots are both Orthodox, and somewhat severed. My grandparents on my mother’s side were Orthodox. More than half of my family on that side still are, with a significant proportion being Hasidic.
